Before you begin the viewing process, you should get pre-approved for a loan, so you know exactly how much money you have to spend. However, you don’t have to spend every penny that you’re approved for-remember, there are a number of unforeseen costs to home ownership, from maintenance problems that crop up to unexpectedly high closing costs. Choose a number that you’re comfortable with and stick to it.
